I am currently a Junior Political Science major at Rider University. I am from Toms River, New Jersey and I live with my parents and two brothers, which of course has its good points and its bad points (If you know what I mean). I love being away at school and I truly enjoy all of my classes here though at times school can be stressful.

I do intend to attend law school after graduation from Rider but I have not decided where that will be yet. I have narrowed my choices down to schools in the tri-State area but that still leaves a few. I am relatively clueless as to what direction I want to go into regarding law; whether it is international law, corporate law, etc. I’m generally interested the flow of globalization and the international politics that results from it. In combination with international politics, I am also interested in domestic issues as well. I hope that the Model UN "experience" will help me in making a decision as to which path to take.

In high school I was involved in organizations which instilled in me leadership qualities and also required teamwork. I held the position of Vice-President than President of the Key Club, which is a service organization (a highschool version of Kiwanis International). In conjunction with my faculty advisor, I organized setup crews and walkers to participate in walk-a-thons for the American Heart Association. As President, my Key Club also volunteered for the Salvation Army, sponsored dances at the local ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens), and adopted a poor family at Christmas time which included rallying gift donations, supplying the family with decorations and a Christmas dinner.

Moreover, I was an active member of T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More). This club consisted of high school students who are trained to teach 4th and 6th graders about the misuse of drugs and alcohol. I was involved in actually going to the elementary schools and teaching a class of 15-30 students. I accomplished this with a team of 4 other T.E.A.M. members.

Clearly, these sorts of activities required and educated me to be a team player. Working with a team of my piers in conjunction with asserting leadership skills for over 3 years has skilled me in several ways. I truly feel that these experiences and skills enable me to be an asset to the Model United Nations Team. Furthermore, I am truly looking forward to the MUN "experience" and all that I can learn from it.
